6 Affordable Things to do in Los Angeles, CA

Enjoy all the great excursions and adventures Los Angeles has to offer without breaking the bank. There are plenty of popular tourist destinations and local favorites that are free or affordable.

  1. Find a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. One of the staples of Los Angeles is the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A trip to the city is not complete without finding your favorite celebrity’s star and taking a photo with it. To walk along the Walk of Fame is free, but it is on a commercial strip so be weary of street vendors and shops if you’re trying to save money.
  2. Stroll along any beach. One of the perks of a state being on the coast is all the beaches you have access to. Some of the top beaches in Los Angeles include Santa Monica Beach, Venice Beach and Hermosa Beach.
  3. Meet your favorite (wax) celebrity at the Hollywood Wax Museum. You may never get to be face-to-face with Johnny Depp, but this wax museum is a close second. See life-sized wax replicas of your favorite celebrities at the Hollywood Wax Museum. This world-famous museum is the most visited attraction on Hollywood Boulevard, and admission is under $20 per person.
  4. Hike Runyon Canyon. If you love fitness and Vitamin D, this is the perfect (free) activity for you. This 160-acre park features a hiking trail at an incline that most personal trainers would be proud of. See the best views of the city of Los Angeles while getting an impressive workout in during the hike.
  5. Walk the Venice Beach Boardwalk. This beautiful boardwalk is lined with souvenir shops, eateries and street performers. There are also sports courts, a skate plaza and a pier available to visitors. Attracting approximately 30,000 visitors a day, this is the second most-visited destination in Southern California. Try a new restaurant, walk along the beach or pick up some souvenirs at this beloved boardwalk!
  1. Stargaze at the Griffith Observatory. Check out the night sky at one of the premier public observatories in the world. The Zeiss and solar telescopes are free and open to the public, as long as the building is open and the sky is clear. Included in this free experience is an introductory video about the building and what’s within.

With a city that never stops, there is a never-ending list of experiences at your disposal in Los Angeles. Check out all of the affordable things to do in this city and keep an eye on our blog for the next destination we highlight!
