For the last 30 years, no one - except Extended Stay America - has been exclusively focused on the extended stay. We are, and will continue to be, the pioneer in this segment for the foreseeable future. Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, worked with us or been a part of our journey! Meet Ishan Patel, a dedicated franchisee who owns eight Extended Stay America hotels. In 2015, Ishan left his civil engineering career in India to explore a career in the hotel industry in the U.S. with his father. His father, who had minor ownership in a hotel in Louisiana, gave him a foot in the door and piqued his interest in the hospitality industry. Ishan started working at the front desk and helped with the breakfast service and maintenance. He then moved into operations, renovations and eventually, ownership. He started acquiring and renovating properties in South Louisiana and Kentucky, then later expanded to the Houston, Austin and Nashville areas. “There are many reasons for my decision to buy multiple Extended Stay America properties including good locations, performance, dedicated loyal customer base, great return on investment for owners, and most importantly, great franchise team support,” said Patel. He emphasized that he wants his guests to have a good experience and leave with good memories of their stay at his Extended Stay America hotels. “That is the heart and soul of the hospitality industry.” Outside of work, Ishan prioritizes quality time with his wife and daughter. When his schedule allows, he loves cooking his daughter breakfast and driving her to school. Patel also enjoys brisk morning walks, volleyball matches with friends and cooking traditional Indian dishes for family and friends. As we celebrate Extended Stay America’s 30th anniversary as a leader in the extended stay segment, we’re honored to partner with you, Ishan! Thank you for bringing genuine care to our guests every day!
