- Try a new recipe: Take advantage of your fully equipped kitchen in your suite and try making a new recipe with your family. Find ways to include everyone, like having little ones add pre-measured ingredients, older kids crack eggs and adults operate the stove. This is a great way to practice teamwork and patience.
- Reading: Visit a local library and let everyone pick out a book they want to read. This is a fun way to let everyone explore their interests. It is also a great way to keep the room quiet if little ones are napping.
- Charades: Let your family’s goofy side out and play a game of charades. Have one person at a time act out a secret word and see who can guess correctly.
- Jigsaw puzzles: Visit a local thrift store and find a jigsaw puzzle for any age. You can work on them together as a family or individually. This also helps problem-solving skills, visual-spatial reasoning, attention to detail and memory.
- Painting: You can purchase washable paints and paintbrushes at most value stores and then let creativity take control. This activity is suitable for all ages. Feel free to give direction like “Paint your family members” or “Paint your favorite flowers.”
