In honor of Women’s History Month, read how women are championed every day at Extended Stay America.

While Women’s History Month is recognized in March every year to highlight trailblazers for women’s rights, women are championed year-round at Extended Stay America.

Extended Stay America supports women through:

  1. Paid Parental Leave: Some of the medical benefits of full-time associates include up to six weeks of paid parental leave. Pregnant associates enrolled in Extended Stay America’s medical plan are also eligible for Aetna’s Enhanced Maternity Program.
  2. Representation on the Executive Leadership Team: Part of what makes Extended Stay America stand out is how the organization empowers women in leadership. Kelly Poling and Liz Uber are both on the Executive Leadership Team and have C-Suite roles in the organization.
  3. Nurturing Associate Growth: One of Extended Stay America’s core values is to create opportunity for growth within associates. Mariam Naseer started her career with Extended Stay America in 1997 as a Guest Service Representative. During her tenure at the company, she has been a General Manager, Area Manager, District Manager and is now the Regional Director of Operations.
  4. womensARG-3.jpgWomen’s Associate Resource Group: The Women’s ARG is intended to champion and advocate for women by implementing policies, hosting events and creating a forum. Kelly Poling, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial & Brand Officer, is the Executive Sponsor of the Women’s Associate Resource Group.
  5. Recognition and celebration of Women’s History Month: Throughout the month of March, Extended Stay America associates receive emails highlighting female activists and women’s history. All associates are encouraged to participate in the month-long celebration by using a virtual background in meetings to show support and wear purple on International Women’s Day.
  6. Encourages involvement and unity for International Women’s Day: To Celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, associates were encouraged to participate by filming a short video about what the day means to them. All associates were also encouraged to wear purple to show their support for this initiative.

At Extended Stay America, women are supported and celebrated year-round. Extended Stay America was also named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2025 by Newsweek. Celebrate Women’s History Month with us by wearing purple, learning about female pioneers and sharing what this month means to you on social media. #WomensHistoryMonth
